Spider Ant (Leptomyrmex rufipes) (1/2)

Leptomyrmex rufipes  

This Spider Ant was encountered alongside Cedar Creek and I thought at first, from a distance, that it was a spider. As I got closer I saw that the fourth pair of legs were in fact its long antennae. I noticed that this ant had lost one leg, perhaps in battle, but this did not slow it down at all.
